“I see the benefits of service-learning to be multiple. Students tend to stay in the course, students tend to do well in the course, students tend to have increased graduation rates and retention rates but the impact on them personally is tremendous and not only is it transformative on students, service-learning has been transformative on me. I look forward to coming to work every day. I have such a passion that is ignited and now we’re building programs and systems at Fresno State that will far outlast any single professor or any single program that will continue to make Fresno State the model of universities in the country for service-learning.”
